If the disconnect goes directly to the meter (should not-But who knows how APS requires there connections)-You would have to pull the meter and have it resealed to rewire (should not be an issue-I have pulled meters to do work on my home-Just called my local utility to reseal down when I was done). Does the disconnect go directly to the meter or to the main breaker panel? If to the main breaker panel, you can turn off the "GT Solar breaker" and rewire easily and safely. And if it bothers you-Later rewire to the "correct" method. I think he is wrong-But sometimes if you can simply rewire and get their approval, then just do it. However the APS guy is "stuck" in the source of power/energy (the GT inverter) and the power going to the Grid (sort of the "load" in this scenario). Generally, I would want to pull the disconnect, and the moving parts (typically load) would be "electrically dead"-Disconnect GT inverter from Line, the GT inverter cannot generate voltage/current so the moving parts are "electrically dead" and will not shock anyone. Otherwise you could connect the failed HDD via SATA to USB adapter with another PC or same PC after replacement of HDD & re-installation of OS and try copying /recovering the files. Note: Back up all the personal data to an external drive if it's possible. If the issue persists again please Contact HP if your HP Notebook is under warranty, HP would replace the Hard Disk Drive and provide you a Recovery media to restore factory operating system after replacement (if you've not yet created Recovery Discs/USB Media) If the above mentioned steps does not help, then you can try reseating the Hard Drive on your Notebook Press the Power button and check if the Unit works normal Plug in the AC/Power Adapter (leave the Battery out for now) Press and hold the Power button for more than 30 Seconds Remove the battery and unplug the AC/Power Adapter
Please try the below shown troubleshooting steps once: HP will provide a replacement Hard Disk Drive if the Notebook warranty is Active, If not you need buy a SATA Hard Disk Drive from a retail shop nearby Whenever the Hard Disk Short/Long DST test fails that indicates that the Hard Disk Drive has failed and that requires a replacement to resolve the issue If not factory rest will erase all the data on the HDD. You have to first try backing up data and then do Factory Reset if required.
